The therapeutic potential of essential oils, like other plant-derived remedies, has yet to be fully realized.  Modern research, however, has largely confirmed therapeutic uses of certain plants. The essential oils used in my soaps and lotions are listed below with a short explanation of their therapeutic value.

Clove - Skin: acne, athlete's foot, bruises, cuts, insect repellent, wounds.  Muscles: arthritis, sprains.  Respiratory: asthma, bronchitis

Eucalyptus - Skin care: burns, blisters, cuts, insect bites and repellent, wounds.  Muscles/joints: muscle aches, poor circulation sprains.  Respiratory:  asthma, bronchitis, coughs, sinusitis.

Grapefruit - high in vitamin C.  Use on skin for acne and oily skin. Promotes hair growth and tones the skin.

Lavender - a reviving yet soothing  oil used for skin allergies, irritations and injuries.  Also good as an insect repellent and relief of depression, insomnia and headaches.

Lemon - high in vitamins A, B and C.  Use on skin for cuts, insect bites, warts, boils and acne.

Lemongrass - use on skin for acne,  athlete's foot, excessive perspiration, insect repellent, open pores

Lime - same as lemon

Peppermint - Skin: acne, dermatitis, ringworm.  Muscles: muscle pain.  Respiratory:  asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, cough.

Spearmint - Same as peppermint but less powerful.  Better adapted for children or sensitive skin.
